This RC5 decoder is suitable for systems already containing an FPGA and that need
infrared remote control facilities.
Infrared remote control codes are decoded into a couple of CPU-addressable registers
complete with interrupt logic.
The project that this core was designed for is cancelled before any hardware was
available. Therefore this decoder has never been tested on real hardware. When
you implement this core please provide feedback on any changes that are needed
to get it working or just bugs and comments in general.
The VHDL code for this core is put into public domain. It may be used for non-commercial
and non-governmental purposes. When this core is needed for commercial or governmental
projects, contact White Bream to settle a
license agreement. Feel free to include your licensing proposal when you do so.
